Japanese line is sold by 号 (gou) — a diameter standard, not a strength — and spooled in metres. Use this to read Japanese spec sheets.
Nylon / fluorocarbon: 号 → approx. lb
Rule of thumb used in Japan: lb ≈ 号 × 4, up to about 5号. Above that the rule breaks down, so we show nothing. Strength varies by brand — treat this as approximate. PE braid is not converted: use the lb rating printed by the maker.
